Sometimes you just want a small cake. Just because u need a bite, to satisfy a craving, or even you just wanted to celebrate small. THE CUBEs was designed just for this. The Rainbow Cube only has 4 layers, yet the same wholesome taste of a full sized rainbow cake

The Rainbow Cube can be cut into 12pcs and serve 4-6 people adequently.

LEGO cake

hi there!!! how I missed blogging here! It has been really looooong since I last posted. I am still baking and decorating, the usual stuff, nothing to fancy yet not too shabby..heheh..been working on a few projects here n there..the kids are growing, 2 toddlers in the house ~ means hand are full, schedules are tight, lots of stuff to do and learn 😉

here’s a LEGO inspired cake complete with a lego man stick. this is the usual rainbow cake, with all 6 colourful layers in it 😉

 

have u guys watched the LEGO Movie? we have and I just loved it! “everything is awesome!” <– can’t get this tune out of my head for weeks…LOL

Rilakkuma Rainbow Cake Exposed!

Rilakkuma cake

Do u know japan’s laziest bear..yeah u guessed it..it’s Rilakkuma! Hehe

Got a request to make this cute bear from a small rainbow cake..so I baked a square rainbow cake in a 7×7 pan (which I just bought, specially for this cake project)..layer them..crumb coat and chill in the fridge for a while and carved the shape of Rilakkuma’s head 😉

Cover the whole cake with brown buttercream (I was really happy with this color – mix brown and yellow)

Smoothed the buttercream and draw a white blob for his mouth and nose later on

Draw some details – eyes, nose n mouth

Add a black outline and fill in the ear with yellow frosting..and here we have my version of a Rilakkuma cake..

Romantic rainbow

Who says rainbow cakes can’t be romantic..hehe..here we have a rainbow cake decorated with red roses to give it a romantic look for anniversary cake 😉

Piped with bright red stripes on the sides (which now have become my favorite method of covering the sides of a rainbow cake)..and three roses on top..ain’t it just romantic.. 😉

Pink Ombre

I’ve planned on doing ombre cakes for a long time but as usual haven’t got a chance to do so..this time when I got a request from cute Ras on making a mini rainbow cake, I requested to make her a pink ombre cake instead 😉 luckily she says yes and here we have my very first pink ombre cake 

and Ras being a dear, shared the photos of the cut cake with me 😀 (which I really appreciate a lot! )

initially I planned on naming the cake Rainbow Uno, but the cake is better known as ombre cakes…but guess what, maybe I WILL call this cake Rainbow Uno, as rainbow cakes are what we do best 😉

Thinking of some variations of colors for the Rainbow Uno series ~ and this one is “Pretty in Pink”

it’s becoming a trend now to have rainbows on rainbow cakes..i’ve been getting a lot of request for rainbow deco on cake lately..it IS rather cute I must say 😉

another upcoming trend on rainbow cakes decoration are colourful and bright colours covering the whole cake! some people are crazy over it, but it’s just not my style 😉 mine is smple n cute..or is it..hehe 😀  i do believe  in “less is more” 😉

Cake buffet table

We had our friends at our place for a housewarming cum eid party..and I prepared a small cake buffet table..made three types of cakes – rainbow cake, red velvet cheesecake and THE chocolate cake 🙂

Made two THE chocolate cake but both were gone in seconds..I’m telling you, THE chocolate cake just tastes divine..no kidding!

Nothing was left for our late arriving guests..sorry guys..you could always order the cakes anytime 😉

This special cake in the centerpiece is for our 7th anniversary..7 rossettes marks 7 years of marriage 🙂

We had a great time..i’m sure our guest had fun too..thank you all for coming to our house..it’s been a real pleasure to have u guys over 😀

I am number 4

This entry has nothing to do with the movie..hehe..it’s about this cake shaped like the number 4 B-)

It’s a rainbow cake shaped like the number 4..I baked the rainbow cake square shaped, layered the cake n cut it out into number 4 shape; my way (hope u can see the lines)

As usual I usually make some changes while assembling the cake..and here we have the coated number 4 cake ready to be decorated

Ceria

I just love this word ~ ‘ceria’..it means bright n cheerful 😀 this is the feeling u get when u cut a rainbow cake..I make a lot of rainbow cakes, but I don’t get to have a slice that often..and sometimes I’m lucky to get a glance of a slice of ‘ceria’ from my cakes..and sometimes I get even luckier to get to actually eat em!

My heart just blooms with ‘ceria’ 😉
