Hantaran flower cake

After taking a long break from cake decorating, I sure prefer to do a floral cake with just rosette swirls instead of roses and other flowers 😅😁

But whenever you start baking for orders you have to adhere to user requests. So, here is my flower cake for hantaran. I’m not proud but quite contented by how it turned out 😁😁

Most important part is the customer was happy, therefore I am happy..wait..happier 😂

Theme is turquoise and soft pink. The colour turned out very nice (really!), but the picture doesn’t do much justice 😅.

Big n small

Got a request to make THE Chocolate Cake in larger size..as always, I forgot to weight the cake but I estimated the large one is around 2 kilos and the smaller or regular sized cake is around a kilo..

For the large cake I didn’t do much..because its owner want it to be plain..but I just have to add a bit of color to it..hehe..I feel red is always great looking againts black 😉

And for the regular sized cake, it was requsted to be decorated with “lotsa love” as I did on the red velvet cheesecake earlier

And a lot of words too..LOL

It’s the red velvet cheesecake’s turn to get all romantic 😉

A heart shaped red velvet cake for the base

Decorate it with bright red rossettes to add more flair..”can u feel the love tonight”

To get a smooth border of red velvet cake crumbs, i press them gently towards the cake using a butter knife

Romantic rainbow

Who says rainbow cakes can’t be romantic..hehe..here we have a rainbow cake decorated with red roses to give it a romantic look for anniversary cake 😉

Piped with bright red stripes on the sides (which now have become my favorite method of covering the sides of a rainbow cake)..and three roses on top..ain’t it just romantic.. 😉

matte ganche

i did the usual pour ganache on cake method..but i wanted a matte finish because i think it would look better with the flowers later..

ganache as we all know has a smooth glossy effect if executed properly (hehe)..my kitchen project today was getting a matte effect on the ganache..so, it was experimenting time 😉 i used a spatula dunked into warm water (and wiped dry) to smooth out the ganache and wallah..here’s my ganached cake with the matte finish i wanted 😉

hantaran: gifts exchanged between the bride n groom on the wedding day in Malay culture. The gifts are decorated really nice and glamorous and placed neatly on pretty stands called ‘dulang’. The usual gifts exchanged are clothes, make up sets, perfume sets, handbags, wallets, shoes, chocolates and of course cakes!

My first cake decorating class ever!

I was both and nervous to go to class today..it’s my first time attending a class since I started baking for orders..didn’t know what to expect n had some inferiority complex goin on..hehe..

Had fun at class..good teacher..great classmates..lotsa new knowledge and skills aquired..what more can u ask! I enrolled for the buttercream roses class organised by Fadzrizals Cakes..they made the pretiest cakes in kuantan 😀

I’d say all of us did a good job decorating the cake..hehe..now my cake sits at home on the cake stand and guests coming over to our house will be served with this pretty cake definitely!

Cake buffet table

We had our friends at our place for a housewarming cum eid party..and I prepared a small cake buffet table..made three types of cakes – rainbow cake, red velvet cheesecake and THE chocolate cake 🙂

Made two THE chocolate cake but both were gone in seconds..I’m telling you, THE chocolate cake just tastes divine..no kidding!

This special cake in the centerpiece is for our 7th anniversary..7 rossettes marks 7 years of marriage 🙂

We had a great time..i’m sure our guest had fun too..thank you all for coming to our house..it’s been a real pleasure to have u guys over 😀
